Mark Heimermann is an award winning record producer and songwriter specializing in artist development with over 30 years of experience.
Born into a musical family, and raised in Syracuse, NY, Mark began his classical training in music at the age of five, starting with piano and trumpet and then later adding violin and viola. Singing was also a major part of Mark's upbringing; from select and state choirs to president of his high school chorus. He would eventually accept a full scholarship to David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN as a member of their Top 40 recruiting band.
While in Nashville, Mark got his professional start in the music industry producing, writing, singing, and playing on commercial jingles for such popular brands as Pepsi, McDonald’s, Jeep, Wrigley, and Dodge. Mark also spent some of his early career as a touring musician with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.
He quickly found success as a record producer and "first-call" studio singer. He has lent his voice and keyboard talents to major artists such as Garth Brooks, Owl City, Amy Grant, DC Talk, Michael W Smith, Reba McEntire, Steven Curtis Chapman, Megadeth, and Kenny Rogers.
Mark is most recognized for his songwriting and production work with some of Christian music’s most celebrated gold and platinum artists, including DC Talk, Michael W. Smith, Jaci Velasquez, Stacie Orrico, Newsboys, Anointed, and Tait to name a few. Industry accolades include ASCAP's Songwriter of the Year and GMA’s Song of the Year for DC Talk’s acclaimed “Jesus Freak.” Mark’s production on DC Talk’s “Free at Last,” “Jesus Freak,” and “Solo” records also earned him prestigious Grammy awards.
Today, Mark lives and works out of his studio in Minneapolis, MN. He is passionate about mentoring and sharing his vast experience and expertise with new and rising artists.
When not in the studio, Mark is an avid fisherman and loves to cook and travel.
